Thank you very much for this great podcast!
This is a very interesting concept. I was practicing this great Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism for 13 year in the SGI of Spain.
An another point to change Karma quicker is to share our experiences during the process of this "change". Sharing our determinations, goals and hope to win or change karma makes a big different. Because we are starting to encourage others to make the same. In meetings or person to person encourage other people.
Thank you for your inspiration!!
Best regards from Spain,
Mickey
PD: I'm going to San Diego,CA soon and i can't wait to go to a Buddhist meeting there... so exciting!!

I enjoyed this podcast as always. It motivated me to read one of my writings from Soka University of America about the prisonization of the US on my podcast. Check it out here: http://www.garageband.com/user/peaceintheeast/podcast/main

Keep up the great work. I'm going to listen to the new podcast on Romancing the Buddha now.

Thank you, Buddhainthehood, for capturing Dona's evolution and determination before she went to Toronto. I know she wants to encourage family revolution (and does beautifully), but the aspect of her determination that captivates me is how she grew her courage to say "no" to someone who is dangerous and trusted that by doing so she was her own best "shoten zenjin" (the protective functions of the universe, AKA the Buddhist gods). Her Buddha nature is her power to say "no" and survive. Her experience is the reason I continue to reach out to women whose pattern is to feel and be out of control of their own lives. Her survival of an attack on her life is a pure example of the kind of protection I have witnessed once a woman begins to chant and especially does so during an attack. It's slow work to continue to support women while they change their environment so they can begin to perceive the choices they make and their reasoning, but it's how we reach world peace, one person at a time. I appreciate so much hearing one more experience that chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo is the single sure key for women who seek to get control of their lives and be safe and protected. Additionally, I'm extremely grateful that you raised the issue of post traumatic stress, particularly for returning war survivors, for their minds are trapped in the world of hell. I would like to hear from one of them who has used their Buddhist practice once they return home to expiate symptoms. I wish Dona all the best in her new life and hope she weighs in here to tell us how she's doing.

Hey, it is great to hear you from Japan and it was great to see you at my concert at Soka University of America. I'm back now in the intense heat and humidity of Japan and it good to hear my friends from California and see the comments from my old SUA alumni and a McKenzie, wow I used to drive to Junior Pioneers with Brandon's parents back in the 70s.

It's amazing how long you can know someone for so long and not know certain details of his or her life. I'm so happy that I was able to hear Dona's powerful story and it gives me a better insight into why she is such a strong woman. Thank you Dona and Buddhainthehood for sharing that story and I'm sure that at least one if not many others have been moved by this story.

Hello,

Thank you so much for this service. I am a youth leader here in Davao City, Philippines. I have been a practicing Buddhist for the past 4 years and 3 years as an SGI-Philippines member. I have started and is being encouraged by chapter leaders, some lectures about Nicheren Buddhist perspectives about "life and death and everything in between" at small discussion meetings (hanzadankai) in our district...Please continue this service....It is such a great help!

Bodhisattvas everywhere are very happy that this is in English and from a different point of view (very fresh)

Thanks

This is absolutely refreshing!!! I have given a copy to several of my friends and play it all the time!!! I love this lecture on Life and Death...a subject that seems to be taboo...but, by listening to the buddhist prespective, is actually so ENLIGHTENING!!

Thank you for the podcast.

It's so interesting that this podcast in particular went from being just a cool podcast to something that really pulled me through a big struggle in the past few days. I'm so happy to know that this group exists and definitely plan on attending in order to make me stronger to support someone I love. Thank you for this episode.

What an informative and encouraging interview! If you ever do a followup, I would love to know if people in recovery have found some specific guidance from Nichiren to be especially helpful. Your interviewing skills are getting better each time, the music choice was very touching, and sound quality is getting better too. You are really demonstrating the breadth of compassion found in Nichiren's teachings as practiced within the Soka Gakkai.

Thanks so much for this. I started to listen to this episode a while back and have been sidetracked for a while. In finishing it this morning I have found so much encouragement that couldn't have been more timely for me. I know three of the four of you and have a first-hand knowledge of some of your many effort.

I don't know how you do so much, you inspire me.

Thank you again, so much for these podcasts, keep em comin'! :)

I recently started practicing the buddahism of Nichiren, I found it a great pleasure to find podcast of his practices, so far I have only found your podcast and a buddahist podcast.

I haven't yet find any for my country in canada, I am considering making ym own even though I am very new to the practice or talk to my district about getting on itunes and making podcast.

I hope you will have new podcast updated soon I found it a great pleasure to be connected to my SGI members even though we are not connecting face to face.

I have two things I want to say: one is that every time I hear these podcasts, I am renewed once again. It is so encouraging to hear average people who are figuring s**t out. It makes other average people like me feel like there is always going to be that dawn after the dark. Thank you for once again inspiring me.

And Jessie: that was a really wonderful comment...you made me cry. Love you girl.

I was raised in this practice, but have not been a participant for many years. Coming from this background, I can't tell you how well-equiped I feel in difficult times. Instead of giving up when I confront a challenge in my life, I am usually able to throw my tantrum, and then get right back to making strides. I feel that it's an accomplishment in and of itself that I was raised with the belief that I have it in me to move mountains.

Despite my good fortune, though, I have avoided all things Buddhist until recently, when I listened to this podcast the other day (episode 5 in particular). The advice that Danielle and Guy offer really helped me to shine in my own life. Just hearing them acknowledge that everyone has self-doubt, and that we can overcome it with the adoption of a practice of determination-whether you chant or not-feels like a great jumping point. We most certainly have the potential to become either our worst enemies, or our closest allies, and it merely takes a change in your thought pattern to accomplish this. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo really is a path to help you manifest your dreams.

I'm not sure if I'm ready to chant again, but this podcast is an awesome resource for understanding the power and philosophy of Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism, and it most certainly supports Daisoku Ikeda's (leader of SGI) encouragement for dialogue towards the advancement of world peace.

Thanks for starting this up, Mom, and to all of the people who are making this podcast happen, keep up the good work! I look forward to hearing more.

Sincerely,
Jessie Delmar

Dear Linda D,

I absolutely love the podcast with Seigi. I am listening to it as I am writing to you. What is so timely is that I saw Seigi last Friday for the first time in a couple of years. I was so happy to see him and was impressed by how he is developing into a strong, handsome, confident young man. You did a fabulous job with him. Also, I loved your poem "My Green Thumb." You absolutely rock!!!!!!!!

Seigi, I am so proud of you! You are an inspiration to youth! Keep up the great work.

Best wishes,

Margrette

Congratulations on Episode 4 of your podcast. Seigi is wise beyond his years. Yet there is something so honest and pure about him. You gotta love him! I am so encouraged by all that you do with so much passion and boldness. Your voices make me feel hopeful.

Wow! What a wonderful interview! Congratulations on your podcast quality. You put together a great show. I was touched to my toes by Seigi's talent and composure. So creative, his actual proof so obvious at so young an age. I'm so proud that he is building his life on the foundation of the Treasure Tower, foreshadowing a future wave of youth who forge ahead with humanistic values, no matter what.Timothy's music is wonderful. How precious they both are! And imagine my surprise at hearing my name and your great personal greeting come roaring out of little iPod speakers! I was shocked and so happy. It's for certain now that we will meet in this lifetime like we promised to do in the past. Myoho sisters indeed!
Eagerly looking forward to your next one!

I was so excited to hear Seigi's story on the pod. I have had the honor to have watched Seigi grow up and really come into his own. I always could relate to a lot of what he was going through because I had similar experiences with bullying in school. He found something to pull him up from that experience and I'm so grateful to hear it. Thank you all for that delightful podcast episode.

That was so encouraging to hear- I love Seigi! It is so inspiring how much he has turned his life around. I remember sitting and talking with him and him being so hurt by his circumstances. I was bullied as well, so I could always relate to how he was feeling. I'm so glad that he found his own strength through chanting to turn his situation around- I too did the same thing. And now I can't wait to see his first published art piece and hear his first track as a DJ! Go Seigi! Thanks guys for that inspiring piece.

Ladies, great job with getting the podcast up and running. I have been practicing this Buddhism for nearly 20 years and am still refreshed to hear how well Eric Hauber explained some of the toughest questions in religion. I look forward to taking notes and incorporating some of the definitions and metaphors into how I can explain this practice to 'buddhist-curious' people I meet. I look forward to the next installation. Cheers to Mr. Hauber and congratulations on launching your new site!

Linda Linda,

Congratulations you two! I just listened to the first episode of "Buddha in the Hood."

I found one thing very encouraging and one thing very unsettling.

Over all...inspiring.

Keep it up!

Dear Lindas,

Congratulations on launching your podcast! What an accomplishment! I feel as if I've made two more friends for life. Since we did the Sacramento podcast here just after Jason met you and you all recorded this podcast, in hearing your voices I feel as if I already know you. Your insightful interview with Jason was so like a conversation at Florida Nature and Culture Center--heartfelt sharing among seeming-strangers who are in fact keeping our vow to meet up again in this lifetime to encourage one another to blow away the delusions that block our own happiness and that of all others.

I look forward to many more of your visits with insightful people who have practiced Nichiren Daishonin's Buddhsim with the SGI and learned to infuse his principles into their daily lives.

Thank you for your dream, thank you for acting on it, and thank you for working hard to bring the Lotus Sutra into the lives of people who would otherwise never know about it, especially young people who want to stand up and work for peace and harmony on our little planet.
