I carried my laptop around the house with me listening to Guy, Danielle, and the Lindas. You are so encouraging. Why do I keep forgetting that with this
Buddhism I can overcome everything? I’m on my way to the Gohonzon right now!!

I was raised in this practice, but have not been a participant for many years. Coming from this background, I can’t tell you how well-equiped I feel in difficult times. Instead of giving up when I confront a challenge in my life, I am usually able to throw my tantrum, and then get right back to making strides. I feel that it’s an accomplishment in and of itself that I was raised with the belief that I have it in me to move mountains.
Despite my good fortune, though, I have avoided all things Buddhist until recently, when I listened to this podcast the other day (episode 5 in particular). The advice that Danielle and Guy offer really helped me to shine in my own life. Just hearing them acknowledge that everyone has self-doubt, and that we can overcome it with the adoption of a practice of determination-whether you chant or not-feels like a great jumping point. We most certainly have the potential to become either our worst enemies, or our closest allies, and it merely takes a change in your thought pattern to accomplish this. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo really is a path to help you manifest your dreams.
I’m not sure if I’m ready to chant again, but this podcast is an awesome resource for understanding the power and philosophy of Nichiren Daishonin Buddhism, and it most certainly supports Daisoku Ikeda’s (leader of SGI) encouragement for dialogue towards the advancement of world peace.
Thanks for starting this up, Mom, and to all of the people who are making this podcast happen, keep up the good work! I look forward to hearing more.
Sincerely,
Jessie Delmar

I have two things I want to say: one is that every time I hear these podcasts, I am renewed once again. It is so encouraging to hear average people who are figuring s**t out. It makes other average people like me feel like there is always going to be that dawn after the dark. Thank you for once again inspiring me.
And Jessie: that was a really wonderful comment…you made me cry. Love you girl.

Thanks so much for this. I started to listen to this episode a while back and have been sidetracked for a while. In finishing it this morning I have found so much encouragement that couldn’t have been more timely for me. I know three of the four of you and have a first-hand knowledge of some of your many effort.
I don’t know how you do so much, you inspire me.
Thank you again, so much for these podcasts, keep em comin’!

Thank you to Linda Delmar, one of the most inspiring people I’ve ever met and a great friend, and everyone who participates in Buddha in the Hood…these podcasts are so inspiring and helpful, I want to share them with everyone I know.
